Brazilian forward Neymar Jr returned to action for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on Saturday, scoring his first goal in over two months as the French champions beat Lille 2-1.
The 29-year-old had been sidelined since November due to a foot injury and was named on the bench by manager Mauricio Pochettino for the match against Ligue 1 rivals Lille at Parc des Princes.
But he made an instant impact when introduced late into the game, scoring just four minutes after coming on as a substitute.
His return to action was greeted with a standing ovation from the home crowd and he celebrated by raising both arms above his head, before running towards the stands to hug his teammates and staff members.
Neymar's goalscoring prowess is widely acknowledged, having won numerous individual awards during his career at Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
He has scored 154 goals in 287 appearances for PSG, including five goals in six games this season.
The Brazilian's return comes at a crucial time for PSG, who are currently third in the league table and looking to secure a top-four finish to qualify for next season's Champions League.
With Neymar back in the squad, the pressure is now on the rest of the team to step up their performances and help PSG achieve their targets for the remainder of the season.
